It all started in 2014, when Hugo Rodrigues, a native Cuban, born near Baec, Cuba in 1936, was approached by one of his country men, Carlos Padron, a cigar manufacturer, out of Ybor City. The two men met at the Farmers Market at the Fairgrounds in Deland, Florida, where Carlos Padron hand rolled and sold his freshly made Cigars to Market-Visitors.
Soon Hugo and Carlos became good Friends and Carlos eventually offered Hugo to buy the Cigar Business. Since Carlos regularly had to shuttle for hours between Ybor City and Deland and Hugo lived only minutes from that Market in Deland, it made more sense for Hugo to take over the Business and run it, while Carlos kept supplying the Cigars.
Eventually the two Friends became partners and Hugo kept building the Market business, serving countless cigar customers for many years. Almost a decade went by and the business grew, but so did Hugo’s age and his diminishing health eventually forced him to sell his flourishing cigar business to go into retirement.
In fall of 2019, Hugo Rodrigues and Roland Zuercher (alas Chef Roland) met for the first time at the Deland Farmers market, when Roland bought his first Cigar. The two hit it off well, talked about Cigars and the world and in time developed a close friendship If you ever want to sell your Cigar Business one day, Roland jokingly said to Hugo, please knock on my door.
Some years later, in May 2023, this became a reality and Hugo, in light of his weakening health, approached Roland and with some urgency offered Roland to take over his flourishing Cigar Business. And so in short order, a deal was struck.
With the purchase came all regular customers, the partnership with Carlos Padron and the right to distribute the El Guajiro Cigar Brand in Central Florida and beyond. Flifi-International L.L.C., a company, which was formed by Roland Zuercher in 2017 in Florida, offered a legal basis to run the cigar business and gave it the necessary format. In the meantime, Carlos Padron went into his retirement and his son Gerardo has seamlessly taken over for his Father.
Gerardo since, has made some smart innovations, Expanding the business, opening a large cigar store with a smoking lounge in Dade City and serving countless clients over the internet. Chef Roland, who to this day, is still producing his spice blend (marketed under the name of Delicious Noise), took over Hugo’s Cigar Business and, without any changes to the business, has been serving the existing clientele since 2023. In 2024, the business expanded to take on new markets in Down town Deland, Port Orange and eventually the City Market in Mount Dora.
Today, customers come to the door in Orange City, we deliver to local addresses and we ship to national- and international -clients handmade cigars. A brand new branch of our cigar business is now in the process of building a network of Bar- or Club -establishments, where our company places a humidor loaded with our El Guajiro cigars for their guests to enjoy with their drinks. This at absolutely no immediate costs to the owner of the establishment, until a cigar is being sold.
The next step and under construction is a Mobil Cigar Lounge, featuring a custom built Trailer, where Cigar enthusiasts- and Connoisseurs can spent time, enjoying their purchased hand crafted Cigars, sitting down in comfort and smoke talk, while sipping Cuban and Espresso Coffee in style.

Every cigar we carry is traced to its terroir — the soil, the climate, the hands that harvested it. Nicaragua, Honduras, Cuba, the Dominican Republic: each region gives the leaf a voice. We listen before we select.
